The song was quite nice. The story was fairly good too. For the most part, I didn't mind the animation, although the battlefield parts were pretty silly looking. Around 3m10s, it's actually kind of funny that the 'uniforms' clearly have the rank insignia attached with safety pins :)
I have a hard time believing that any modern government would notify a woman that her husband had died with a letter rather than a personal visit from someone in the military. Then again, it's not clear if this was supposed to be a contemporary story or something more like WWI without the trenches.
Also, the bit at 48s with the close up of the singer's mouth is just plain creepy.

I thought this worked quite well as a music video. The visuals and the song together really had a good emotional oomph. I do have to agree with Kurt Paulsen's comment though, it did look a little silly at times, particularly the grenade explosion. Overall I enjoyed it, though, and feel it did a good job as a music video.
