Conflict

'Conflict' is a short film born of the idea of attempting to show a more realistic side of a problem that is closer to us than it seems: Schizophrenia. After several not-so-successful Hollywood attempts that showed the disease from erroneous points of view or even gave false hopes of finding a cure, the reality is that very little is known about schizophrenia and the awe the families of those who suffer it go trough. In this small project with no budget, Shini Works aims to show the loneliness, isolation and the inner demons of a person locked within an obsession. There is much symbolism and all the scenes have been carefully planned to reinforce the topic. However, we won't explain them here because we believe that each person must find the message on it's own. I'm a bit disappointed. I was hoping that this was going to depict what it would be like to have schizophrenia. I don't feel like it did that. It depicted someone who is obviously disturbed in some manner, but I don't see how it was identifiable schizophrenia.

the setup & effects were good, great effort. i think voices/sounds by character could have made it even more scary .

To me this was just about a guy that wanted to get away from it all. The music really creates the atmosphere but it's a little too dark for my liking. My advice would be to shoot on a 550, 5, 7 or 60D and push in some fill lights to build the atmosphere around it.

Well, that is a classic schizophrenia symptom. We put all of them together to create the whole picture. I agree with you in the lights, but as I said the budget was total zero so we did what we could.

We are currently working on some new stuff with new equipment and with some actual budget so we expect to deliver it within the next month or two :)

The lighting was awesome and this short definitely conveyed the premise of conflict. I think you could do a really good horror if you wanted to.
