A veteran of the war in Iraq, and self-proclaimed American Patriot, becomes convinced that the federal government is setting him up as the fall guy in a soon-to-be terrorist attack on American soil ~ yet his reactions to the paranoia unmistakably parallel that of a would-be terrorist.

At once controversial and definitive, vehemently proactive, and overwhelmingly relevant in a political climate charged with uncertainties, Person of Interest gives voice to a disenfranchised generation of soldiers, while bravely prodding at the seams of homegrown terrorism in the United States.

Reviews

From Jibril Hambel :

"Person of Interest succeeds on several levels. The script-driven film drowns you in a tsunami of language ranging from colloquial American to Iraq-vet grunt-speak to the oddities of Terrances grasp of basic English. Brilliant moments of scriptwriting reference both Timothy McVeigh and the September 11th World Trade Center attacks, upping the intensity for the viewer who constantly feels something horrible is about to happen." - Review by Jibril Hambel for JO Magazine.

From Emily Millay Haddad:

"...The lines of reality in Person of Interest are blurred and grained. Its a testament to Baynes direction and cinematography that the film is able to maintain such a level of narrative force and coherence while the main character spirals within his trauma and insanity." - from "I Pity the 'Good Man' - A review of PERSON OF INTEREST

From Caroline Hagood:

"The script is a tough prose poem that repeats certain phrases in order to convey what it might sound like inside Terrances mind; and, with alternately searching and invasive close-ups of his face coming undone, the camera captures his paranoia and pain. This gritty look at a mind ruined by war reveals that perhaps the worst part of battle is its lingering madness."

I just now saw this by accident while trying to find a torrent for the new television show by the same name, and I'm so glad I did. Great work! Amazing realism, and emotion. I sent $5 your way. I know it's not much, but I wish you the best, and I am eager to see what you and your team bring us in the future.

Awesome film. The tight shots get a little schizophrenic and claustrophobic at times but, i think that plays well against the slower pacing and the relationships between the characters. Same can be said for the dynamic color pallets. Really helps set the mood.

Only gripe is the open ending. Pulling my hair out wondering "what..."

I NEED CLOSURE!!

8/10

HI, I just had the opportunity to watch this film at the freefilmfestivalen in Gothenburg, Sweden.

I start with what I did not like: I think that the rhythm gets sometimes too slow, or maybe it's just that the characters are always in the same mood that makes it monotonous. But this is not necessarily a problem. I just missed some variation.

But the good sides, in my view, overweight the bad. I like a lot the camera angles, almost all the time, and also the color treatments of different scenes that in spite of being very noticeable is never exaggerated. The acting is very convincing. And above all the plot is very pertinent.

Looking forward to the next project!

Maybe it's my inner conspiracy theorist, but within the first 5 minutes of the film, I was hooked until the end. Well written, directed, and edited. I guess it could be that I just don't get nauseous like others when watching films where the camera "moves," but I didn't find it distracting, nor do I feel it took away from the experience. And about the ending, I think it did the trick - it left things open, leaving the viewer to analyze, decipher, and think. Great job, and I'll be looking forward to the next production.

Decent idea, but poor execution. Some thing that need some work:

The camera shakes a lot. Some scenes it could be for effect, but it's never really steady even when it should be. Its not that hard to make your own steady shot rig. I tried to ignore it for the film.

The picture is rather dark most of the way through, enough to hide detail that should be visible. This should be an easy fix to do during post. At least I can work around that with a gamma boost filter during playback.

The deal breaker, however, is the non-ending. No explosion. No follow up. Just bam, cut to black. So I watched a film in which essentially nothing happens at all. I could forgive the rest of the faults, but not this. Sorry, but I won't be recommending it to anyone else.

Camera shakes WAY too much, literally 100% of the time. Made me a little dizzy and made the direction look sloppy.

However -- it's a very interesting concept, with a good script and some pretty solid acting. Definitely a memorable film that I will be sure to recommend to the people I know.
